ToolZool sets no cookies

Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

This is unusual enough to be worth explaining properly.

What we store instead

ToolZool uses local storage, which is a different mechanism with different properties. Two entries exist:

The important difference: cookies are attached to every request your browser makes to a site; local storage is not. A cookie travels to the server automatically, which is what makes it useful for tracking. Local storage stays in your browser until code on the page reads it. Nothing in ToolZool’s local storage is ever transmitted anywhere.

Neither entry contains anything about the files you process. toolzool:recents holds page paths, nothing more.

Clearing it

Three ways:

• Use the Clear history button on the Recent page.
• Clear site data for toolzool.com in your browser’s settings.
• Browse in a private window, where the storage is discarded when you close it.

Clearing it costs you nothing except the Recent list and your theme choice. No tool depends on it.

Third-party cookies

There are none, because there are no third-party scripts. ToolZool loads no analytics, no advertising, no embedded widgets and no external fonts. Every asset on every page is served from toolzool.com.

If this changes

If ToolZool introduces advertising, an ad network would likely set cookies. Should that happen we will:

1. update this page before the change goes live, naming the network;
2. present a genuine consent choice where the law requires one;
3. ensure that declining changes nothing about how the tools work.

We would rather say this in advance than surprise you with a banner one morning.
